Linda Bell Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in American Sign Language
Linda Bell Kachelski became an interpreter to help her mother communicate with the world
FLINT, MI, November 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Bell, American Sign Language Interpreter at BFA Communications, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in American Sign Language.
As an American Sign Language interpreter at BFA Communications, LLC, a position she has held for six years, Ms. Bell translates for the deaf, hard of hearing and blind, and works with local businesses in the medical, legal and educational fields. She is a state-certified interpreter with expertise in translating sign language into English, and is pursuing national certification. The first in her family to graduate from college, as well as the first to start a business, Ms. Bell became involved in her profession after observing the difficulty that her mother, who is deaf, had in communicating with others, Ms. Bell is proud of her ability to understand and accept others, and attributes her success to her mother.
Ms. Bell received an associate degree in general education and an additional associate degree in sign language and interpretation from Mott Community College in 2005. She founded the American Sign Language Club of Mott Community College and played softball for the school. In addition, she is a basic Braille reader. Her professional memberships include the Flint Association of the Deaf, MIRID, and the Interpreters for the Deaf-Blind section of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
